It’s with a very heavy hear that I write this entry. This man is Larry Sypolt, the most amazing and biggest influence on my life as a history student. It’s with deep regret that I have to announce that he passed away last night. I found out today while sitting in another class via text message, and I can honestly say that it was like a blow to the stomach that made me hunch over crying. I’ve never been so close to a teacher or cared about one in the way that I cared about Larry (as many of his students will tell you). He had these wonderful stories and would always make you, as the individual, feel important. He knew the names and past of every person he taught and cared for each person deeply. While I am grateful to have spent the past two years being friends with him and taking his classes, I’ll forever miss sitting in his office discussing random shenanigans that went on while he was in college. I’ll forever appreciate everything he’s done for me, I’ll forever appreciate the friendship we had. He was a wonderful person, and while I’m so devastated, I’m grateful he isn’t suffering anymore.
Rest in Peace Larry, you’ll never be forgotten. Thank you for making me who I am today.

To protest a bill that would require women to undergo an ultrasound before having an abortion, Virginia State Sen. Janet Howell (D-Fairfax) on Monday attached an amendment that would require men to have a rectal exam and a cardiac stress test before obtaining a prescription for erectile dysfunction medication.
“We need some gender equity here,” she told HuffPost. “The Virginia senate is about to pass a bill that will require a woman to have totally unnecessary medical procedure at their cost and inconvenience. If we’re going to do that to women, why not do that to men?”
